The Mission
When Shakinah opened their doors on Ta’ Xbiex Seafront, they had a recipe for success. But they needed some extra help to really spice up their online presence and establish themselves in the highly competitive restaurant scene. That’s where Nero Whyte came in. Our goal was to help Shakinah become the go-to spot for foodies in Malta by effectively managing their social media accounts, boosting their online presence, driving brand awareness and community engagement through mouth-watering content and smart ad management.
The Moves
From day one, we knew that the platforms of META and Google would present be the perfect recipe for success in the restaurant industry. So, we got to work creating an appetising feast for Shakinah’s online presence. At Nero Whyte, we understand that a picture is worth a thousand words, and for Shakinah, our food styling and photography services have been the secret ingredient to their online success! We collaborated closely with Shakinah to create mouth-watering visuals that truly captured the essence of their delicious cuisine and drove engagement. We also brought our creative expertise to the table with graphic design and videography services that helped bring Shakinah’s brand to life across all channels.
Whether it’s a sizzling video or a stunning image, we know how to make their audience’s taste buds tingle and keep them coming back for more! But we didn’t stop there. We knew that reaching new customers was just as important as keeping loyal fans coming back for seconds. So we set our sights on targeted social media ads and Google ads that would help Shakinah stand out in a crowded marketplace. Our strategy and online activities factored in all phases of the marketing funnel, from top-of-the-funnel brand awareness to conversion-driven calls-to-action. We used retargeting to keep Shakinah top-of-mind for those who had already shown interest in the restaurant, and we created a loyal following by nurturing our online community with engaging content and exclusive promotions.
The Results
Our approach was a resounding success and our social media strategy played a key role in Shakinah’s success, driving brand awareness, community engagement, and ultimately more happy customers.

Since launching in February 2019, Shakinah has welcomed over 90,000 guests, with 77% of them being first-time customers (Duration: 2019 – 2023) and became one of the most highly rated restaurants in Malta, with a 4.5 star rating on both Google and Facebook reviews. While we can’t take credit for the mouth-watering food and impeccable service that Shakinah provides, we’re proud to have played a key role in driving Shakinah’s success.
