Slow it down

In a fast-paced world… which is only getting faster. It feels like we’re rushing and chasing endlessly… the core question has become “how quickly?” rather than “how intentional?” or “how purposeful?”.

‍

It is very easy to get caught up in it all, and who can blame us? It’s become a panic of getting somewhere, but where?

‍

Here at Nero Whyte, although we move fast and we are agile (we’ve got to be to keep up in this world)… I like to think that we also know how to slow it down where it matters. Yes, there are trends to keep track of and non-stop cultural moments we need to keep in tune with, but something integral in all our successful work has been the power of pausing, slowing it down and really thinking deeply about a brand’s objectives and how to best reach the audiences who matter most in impactful and purposeful ways.

‍

This is what we call our strategical phase… where, as a team, we collaboratively take time to engineer a purposeful blueprint which is value-adding to the audiences we are attempting to resonate with. Through this process… there is creative ideation, research, there is intuition, emotional intelligence, visual inspiration, tactical data… and, in a very heartfelt way, brainstorming and fired-up conversations. This is where the spark happens… if it doesn’t happen here, the rest of the work associated with the particular campaign has rocky foundations and, when it comes to actually achieving results, it’s considerably more of a guessing game.

‍

To this point, the organic, human-led strategical process is the most valuable part of what Nero Whyte does and increasingly will be the defining factor of what we offer brands. Yes, one may prompt their strategies all day long… but have they internalised the need a brand is trying to fill within the human audience? Have they felt what the audiences should feel when interacting with the brand? Have they seen what others haven’t seen and are about to bring a significant message into the world?

‍

…Here is where the speed of things lets us down. We lose our grip on reality, we lose our sensitivity.

‍

As brand leaders, we believe that we must allow the process to happen; we actually have a responsibility to… otherwise, we are just casting fishing nets blindly into a never-ending digital ocean… and adding unneeded noise to a loud and overwhelmed room.
